The Situation
In November 2025, a hostile drone strike hit a Natural Gas Liquids area at an operating gas facility. The incident caused a fire, plant shutdown and loss of grid power. Conventional site-dependent systems, including local servers, RFID readers and site Wi-Fi, became unavailable.
The Accountability Challenge
The operation needed to account for more than 1,300 people, including a substantial contractor and visitor population. Personnel movement and evacuation extended beyond fixed facility boundaries, while the systems normally used to support site visibility were unavailable.
How LivePOB Was Used
LivePOB remained accessible through two independent carrier networks and its cloud environment.
Personnel used the SelfMuster workflow to report SAFE or request HELP through suitable connected devices.
HSE, Security and Operations monitored confirmed reports and unresolved records from one centralized platform.
Non-responders remained visible for follow-up instead of being assumed safe from previous access or location records.
The Recorded Outcome

The cloud workflow remained available while site-dependent infrastructure was unavailable.
Around 100 unresolved records were confirmed not physically on site, exposing an access-record gap that was corrected the following day.
